We welcome past, present and future supporters of Viophilia to a very special night curated by Ivette Cabrera. Our vision is to keep shifting the realm of the art world and bringing forth the highest quality of boundary pushers, ground breakers and shape shifters that don’t play well by the rules. October marks 3 years of Viophilia; a name which represents the obsession to create. Throughout our time at Viophilia we have had the honor to represent, curate and collaborate with many talented artists ranging from all styles of art forms. This year we want to honor their life and creative strive while honoring those who have influenced their lives but are no longer present.

Opening April 13 at the ArtCenter/South Florida, New York-based artists João Enxuto and Erica Love’s institutionally-focused work forms the basis of their new show “Beacons.” The exhibition builds upon their continued interest in the role technology plays in mediating the power dynamics between institutions and their publics.

Running through June 19, 2016 at the ArtCenter’s Project 924 gallery, the exhibition features a 15- minute video Institute for Southern Contemporary Art (ISCA): a proposal for an institution that utilizes an algorithm to analyze the contemporary art market in order to automate a production plan to create the means for artists to work otherwise. This strategy outlines the way in which artists can successfully make inroads into the global art market. The video—with scenes shot in Atlanta and in Miami Beach—sets up the framework for the exhibition where viewers can expect to engage with the gallery as a system of objects, artworks, and sensors––relaying both the signal and noise of data monitoring. l ArtCenter/South Florida | 924 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139 | (t) 305.674.8278
