iPic Luxury Theaters Finally Opens in Miami

iPic movie theaters finally opens its doors in North Miami. We had the privilege to test the iPic concept at the media preview on Dec. 8th. Media outlets from all over South FLorida were there, proving that the community is excited about the new iPic location. The South Florida based theaters is  a perfect way to see the new Star Wars. The comfy  reclining seating will come in handy for the 2hr and 15 minute blockbuster.

Is it Worth It?

First of all the answer to the question is a resounding “YES.”  If you have never been to an iPic movie theater, then this is what you can expect. First of all for the price I think it is worth it. However it is a luxury experience, so you should save your trip to iPics for a special occasion, with a special someone and a blockbuster film. The price range per seat is $25 and be advised that iPics is known for selling out weeks in advanced. So don’t expect to go on a whim and get seats. One of the things that sets iPics apart from other luxury theaters is the “Push-Button” concept. You can actually order food and drinks during the movie. This is a big plus. More about that below. Ipic in North Miami is more than just a movie theater. When you walk in the venue, it has a full restaurant and lounge located in the “lobby” with a  well researched gourmet menus put together by renewed chef Sherry Yard and mixologist Adam Seger. But best of all is its leather Lazy Boy style reclining seating. Once you experience a movie this way it is hard to see a film any other way.

About the PUSH-Button

I was skeptical at first as to how this Push-Button approach to service during a movie would not interfere with the entertainment. However, the staff is very well trained and make the “Push-Button” service invisible during the movie. Also you can tell a lot of research has gone into the seating arrangement so that the isles never overlap the screen. Inside the movie theater every one is treated to reclinable leather seats and a “comfort kit” of pillows and blanket. The “in-cinema” menu differs slightly from the restaurant outside. The main feature at iPics is the “PUSH-button” service concept.

I made real good use of the Push-Button as I wanted to test out and find any kinks in the concept. First, I had to try the cocktail creations by famed mixologist, Adam Seger. Recommended is his take on the mojito and the use of fresh guarapo cane juice in recipe. I totally foresee this winning a “Best Mojito” in Miami award in the near future. Also the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich and the warm biscuits  with apple butter.

Well, now you know of a new venue in town not only to watch movies like never before but with a nightlife environment as well. See below pictures of some of the highlights from the media event.
