New Concept Sketches for Miami Beach Lifeguard Stands: One Looks Like a McDonald’s

New Concept Sketches for Miami Beach Lifeguard Stands

Architect William Lane has released the concept sketches for the new lifeguard stands that will replace the iconic Art Deco Lifeguard stands in Miami Beach. They are set to launched just in time for Miami Beach’s centennial celebrations this year, 2015. So far the replacement is a lot more subtle than it was made out to be. City officials had insinuated that the new designs would be dramatic and a turn of the century upgrade. But to us, the new designs are a bit of the same. Plus a some what down grade in size from what can be seen in the sketches. One of the designs doesn’t even have the iconic pastel colors, going for the McDonald’s color scheme instead. Compare the before and after yourself by taking a look at  a past article we did on the iconic Miami Beach Lifeguard Stations. Hopefully we will be put to silence and the new lifeguard stands will bring pride to the decision-making of those evolved in shaping Miami’s future.

I dont know why they just didnt have a contest for local or national artists design some cool structures,, these dont look original they are just regurgitated ideas. This was a missed opportunity for Art Decor Miami Enthusiasts.
