FOR ALL YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE REAL ESTATE CRISIS, MIAMI IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT

For all of you worried about the current real estate crisis, Miami is going to be all right because foreigners are still investing in Miami condos.

I came up with this realization the other day when I took a mid week well deserved escapade to South Beach. But more specifically my favorite part of Miami Beach, South Pointe. While most prefer 7th street for all the hot tourist and party tents take place there. I defer to South Pointe.

I went early around 10pm, got a good spot and tried out my new snorkeling gear. As soon I was trying to snap on my fins sounds of screams from regulars broke out. “Shark!” “Sting Ray!” WTF is going on? But then the whistle of the lifeguard made it official. Thankfully it was just friendly Manatee. My snorkeling venture won’t be cut short after all.

Snorkeling in to side of the pier where the huge boulders mark the trail, I witness quiet a treat. I mustered the courage to go all the way to the end thanks to a fellow snorkelers (who happened to be a hot chick) who invited me to join her. At the trail we saw yellow tail snapper, some weird color changing squids, lobsters and other cute little fishes I can’ identify. But to top it off we witnessed a school of about 30 Rainbow fishes swimming all around us, through out our excursion. That was awesome! You’d be lucky to see that in a snorkeling excursion in the Bahamas.

Back at shore I played a few rounds of paddle ball with my new-found friend. She sucked! But it was fun. Sweaty from the lack luster exercise we took back to the water.

The conditions of the beach was calm. Seemed more like a lake than a beach, having no waves what so ever. Perfect for the floattie I brought just in case. Drink at hand and relaxed by the cloudless day and beautiful scenery I drifted away. As I drifted in the pool like conditions, on lookers encouraged my tranquility with comments such as “Dude you got the right idea.” Another yelled “Que Buena Vida.” (What a great life ) “Vivir en Miami!” I answered. Once in a while a took a peak at the Portofino Tower and Espirito Santa Plaza in the vicinity and I coud not help but crack a smile. We are living in paradise people!

So this day, I swam with a manatee and other beautiful sea life, met a friendly hot chick and drifted in my own private raft in Paradise. This in the stuff that inspires poems, paintings or in this case a blog post. Needless to say I over ran my meter by about two hours, but when I got to my car… not a ticket. ( it was a good day)

Those of you that are worried about the real estate crisis in Miami like I was, go to sleep with a smile. Everything is gonna be alright. We are living in paradise.
