Chandra da Silva Maharaj is a swimwear designer born to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil while at an early age transitioning to the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, only to then move to Miami, Florida where she began laying the foundation for what has now become Chandra Maharaj Swimwear.

She has earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in International Business from Barry University along with an Associates Degree in Fashion Design from The Miami International University of Art and Design (Art Institute).

After completing her formal education she eagerly pursued the creation and production of her first swimwear collection Amazonas which launched in the summer of 2011.

Since then she has participated in Miami Fashion Week, The 3rd Annual Rockstar Fashion Throwdown 2011 and sponsored WinTV’s Miss Indian Network Pageant 2011.

Her vision is to evoke the power of women, and generate tremendous vibrations of beauty and love by providing trendsetting swimwear for the fashion forward female. There will be emphasis placed on custom designed swimwear for her clientele, ensuring satisfaction for all. Her 2nd Annual collection Zambi, inspired by a recent backpacking trip through Africa was recently launched in NYC on June 16th, 2012 during Plitzs Passion for Fashion Swimwear Show.
