NEW MARLINS BALL PARK WILL PAY TRIBUTE TO THE ORANGE BOWL

I first came across Danile Arsham’s work on a post by www.artmiami.tv. It brings pride to see another Miami artist making strides. This guy is bad ass. After reviewing his website I came across some of the work he is doing for the New Marlin’s ball park. He was asked to create public installations by the Miami-Dade Art Pubic Places program for the stadium and his ideas pay tribute to the old Orange Bowl stadium that many were and are still fond of, including himself. Check them out for yourself. The first picture is of 2 symbolic goal posts from the Orange Bowl, intertwined  to form a gate way. The piece that really struck a chord with me was the pathway with the actual sized replicas of the Orange Bowl Stadium letters rising or descending into the ground. That brought back memories. I can recall reading those giant letters as my dad drove our family past the Orange Bowl via the 836. I would stare an imagine how big in reality those letters were. Now we will all get to view them and touch them from up close. Great job Daniel. Can’t wait to see more of your work. How about you guys, do you like it?
